  • What is the Leadership Academy?

    The Leadership Academy is a unique platform for busy executives to develop their leadership skills and connect with an exclusive community of business leaders.

    We offer development courses from leading educational institutions such as the Harvard Business School and Melbourne Business School to help leaders realise their true potential. Leadership Academy courses are accessible anywhere an internet connection is available and at anytime to suit the time constraints of busy executives.

    What are the technical requirements for accessing the learning courses?

    The Leadership Academy will work best when your computer meets the following requirements:

  • Internet access: a high speed internet connection is highly recommended

  • Internet browser: the supported browsers and versions are Internet Explorer version 6.x, Internet Explorer version 7.x, Internet Explorer 8.x and Firefox version 3.x
  • Cookies: Cookies much be enabled for information on enabling Cookies please see the question 'Your session has been closed, please log in again!'?
  • Javascript: Javascript must be enabled: to enable Javascript please do the following in your web browser:
    1. Tools
    2. Internet Options
    3. Security tab
    4. Select Custom level
    5. Scroll to Scripting
    6. Tick 'Enable' under Scripting-->Active scripting
  • Adobe Flash Player: Please ensure you have the latest version of Adobe Flash player. Flash can be downloaded from http://get.adobe.com/flash/"

  • Adobe Reader: Please ensure you have Adobe Reader installed on your computer. Adobe Reader can be downloaded from http://get.adobe.com/reader/"

    How do I open a course?

    To open a course (piece of content) please navigate to the desired course and push the Play button within the preview image. The course will then play in either a new browser window, new browser tab or a pop up dialogue.

    How do I sort or search content?

    To search for a particular course please use the Filter Results bar in the top-left corner. Enter the desired search term and press Search. If you have pre-selected a particular competency or collection to search, results will appear accordingly. If you have not pre-selected a competency or collection, all results will appear.

    To filter search results, you can use the various options found at the top of the results page. These allow you to filter results by course date, title, author, rating and content provider. The Show drop-down menu also allows you to sort the results by media type (such as video, PDF or audio).

    I get a blank screen when playing a video

    Please ensure you have the latest version of Adobe Flash player. Flash can be downloaded from http//get.adobe.com/flashplayer

    If you continue to have difficulty playing a video course after installing the latest version of Flash please contact our support team at leadershipacademy@deloitte.com.au

    I can’t complete a video, PDF or audio course

    To complete a video, PDF or audio course you must view the course for at least 50% of the total running time of that course. After you have completed the course a green tick will appear and you will have the option to rate the completed course.

    If you believe you have completed the course but the green tick has not appeared, please press CTRL + F5 on your keyboard at the same time. This will cause your browser to refresh and the green tick should appear.

    I can’t complete a Certificate, Seminar or ManageMentor course

    To complete a Seminar, Certificate or ManageMentor course you must complete at least 75% of the course and in some circumstances correctly answer 50% of the question and answer portion of the course.

    For the Seminar, Certificate or ManageMentor courses to track your progress through the sections, so it is important to exit the course using the Exit button. Do not click the 'X' or Close button in the upper right-hand corner of your browser to exit the course or your progress will be lost.

    If you believe you have completed the course but the green tick has not appeared, please press CTRL + F5 on your keyboard at the same time. This will cause your browser to refresh and the green tick should appear.

    I can’t open a Certificate, Seminar or ManageMentor course

    Certificate, Seminar and ManageMentor courses open in a new browser, please ensure your browser is set to allow pop ups when viewing the Leadership Academy.

    To open a blocked pop up navigate to the Certificate, Seminar or ManageMentor and then click the yellow Information bar that appears at the top of the browser when it notifies you that a pop-up window has been blocked. Click Show Blocked Pop-up.

    Alternatively you can allow a pop up by pressing CTRL + ALT as you click on the Play button to start the course.

    I can’t play the video in a Certificate, Seminar or ManageMentor course

    Please ensure you have Adobe Flash player installed on your computer. Flash can be downloaded from http://get.adobe.com/flash/"

    If you continue to be unable to play a video within a Certificate, Seminar or ManageMentor course please ensure you have allowed DirectX to install and run. You can do this by selecting the yellow Information bar that appears at the top of your browser and selecting Install DirectX. Then follow the prompts to allow DirectX to install.

    DirectX is a piece of Microsoft Windows software that many websites use.

    Please ensure you have Adobe Reader installed on your computer. Adobe Reader can be downloaded from http://get.adobe.com/reader/"

    How do I rate a course?

    To rate a course you must first complete the course and have the green tick appear. Once you have completed the course select the Rate button and choose a rating out of 5 stars.

    I’ve lost my learning history

    If you have lost your learning history please contact our support team at leadershipacademy@deloitte.com.au

    This may be caused if you have two separate usernames to access the Leadership Academy.

    I'm receiving the error 'Your session has been closed, please log in again!'

    This problem is related to cookies and is dependent on your browser settings. Please follow the below steps to change your browser settings to allow cookies from 'dla.janison.com':

    1. Open your browser
    2. Select Tools
    3. Select Internet Options
    4. Select the Privacy tab
    5. Select the Sites button.
    6. Enter in the field 'address of web site
    7. Click the Allow button
    8. Click ok ' dla.janison.com
    9. Close your browser and reopen it

    I'm receiving the error 'Your session has timed out and you must log on again before you can access this course'

    Your training session has timed out. Please log out of the Leadership Academy, close all of your browser windows and then login to Leadership Academy once again.
